Carol has been training and assessing Mountain Leaders in Cumbria and Scotland for over 10 years. Carolclimb run friendly professional training courses from two bases. St. John's in the Vale, Nr. Keswick only 25minutes from the M. 6. Penrith. This is an excellent venue in a beautiful setting. The courses are self catering and accomodation is in en-suite bunkrooms (4 person ). Low Gillerthwaite Field Centre is situated towards the head of the Ennerdale Valley. One of the most beautiful, remote and quietest valleys in the Lake District. The course is self catering with bunkroom accomodation in a 15th Century farmhouse. Transfers from local train / bus stations can be arranged. Give us a ring or E-mail. Training Requirements and Registration Go to MLTE www.mlte.org REGISTRATION To register you should have at least twelve months experience of hill-walking. You must also have an interest in leadership of groups in the hills and be at least eighteen years of age. TRAINING In order to attend a training course you must be registered with the ML scheme and have experienced at least twenty quality mountain days. The 'Pre-Training Summary Page' in your logbook will help you present this information to your training course Provider. Candidates must attend a training course with a Provider approved by one of the four Home Nation Training Boards. Courses are delivered in a variety of formats, and have a minimum of sixty hours contact time with the trainers. Lists of courses are available from the Boards. |
